HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR SCRIPT


Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Inc. has an open submissions policy and we encourage writers to send in their plays or musicals for consideration for production on Broadway or Off-Broadway.

Should you wish to submit your script or project to us, please adhere to the following instructions:

Please only submit one piece.  Show us your strongest or most representative work and we will contact you if we’d like to see more.

Please note, that due to the overwhelming amount of scripts we receive, it may not be possible for us to respond to all submissions. For this same reason, we also ask that you do not call or email asking for a confirmation of receipt of your materials or for information regarding whether or not we have had a chance to review them.

SCRIPT COVERAGE - GET FEEDBACK ON YOUR PROJECT

This service provides dramaturgical feedback for works in development from our Director of Creative Development, as well as thoughts on your show’s commercial potential and possible next steps. Writers are also encouraged to submit questions or raise issues they would like addressed.

To apply, please submit payment through Paypal below; once your payment is submitted, you will be directed to a form that will allow you to upload your script and/or music.

Alternatively, if you would like to send in a hard copy of your script and demo CD, you can mail it to the above address. Please indicate SCRIPT COVERAGE on your envelope of materials as well as in your accompanying cover letter. Checks should be made payable to Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Inc. and should be included with your materials.  Please write the name of your project in the memo of the check.

You will receive a detailed analysis of your project via email two (2) weeks from our receipt of the materials.


THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES

This year, Davenport Theatrical Enterprises will produce three readings of new works (plays and/or musicals) that have been submitted to us through our regular submissions process.  If you've submitted to us in the past, no need to submit the same material to us again. We keep records of submissions and will comb through previously received scripts for consideration.

If we select your piece, you will be contacted by the Artistic Director of the series, Jane Caplow, who will give you further instructions.

2012 readings will take place at 8 PM on the following dates:

Monday, April 2nd
Monday, August 6th
Monday, December 3rd
