HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR SCRIPT
Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Inc. has an open submissions policy and we encourage writers to send in their plays or musicals for consideration for production on Broadway or Off-Broadway.
Should you wish to submit your script or project to us, please adhere to the following instructions
- For Musicals: Please mail a copy of your script to the address below. Please include a cover letter and a demo CD. (Musical submissions lacking a script or a demo will not be considered.)
- For Plays: Please mail or email a copy of your script and cover letter to one of the addresses below.

In order to save postage and a few trees, we strongly encourage you to send your script to us via PDF. A lot of our reading is done on a Kindle, so a PDF version helps us get to your script faster, saves you money and is environmentally friendly.
Please note, that due to the overwhelming amount of scripts we receive, it may not be possible for us to respond to all submissions.
Additionally, we encourage you to submit only one piece at a time. Show us your strongest or most representative work and we will contact you if we’d like to see more.
We also ask that you do not call or email asking for a confirmation of receipt of your materials or for information regarding whether or not we have had a chance to review your materials. Unfortunately, we will not be able to respond to these inquiries, again due to the number of scripts we receive.
If you would like confirmation that we have received your information and a guarantee that we will review your materials in a specific period of time, please consider the SCRIPT COVERAGE option indicated below.

SCRIPT COVERAGE
Should you wish to receive a written analysis of your script or project with feedback from our Creative Development Associate, as well as our thoughts on your show’s commercial potential, please indicate so by writing SCRIPT COVERAGE on your envelope of materials as well as in your cover letter accompanying your materials.
You will receive a detailed analysis of your project two (2) weeks from our receipt of the materials. Writers are also encouraged to submit questions or raise issues they would like addressed.
The fee for this script coverage service is $75. Checks should be made payable to Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Inc. and should be included with your materials. Please write the name of your project in the memo of the check.
Please remember to write SCRIPT COVERAGE on the outside of the envelope containing your script so that your script can be expedited properly.
